Conflict Coaching & Mediation

For most people I know, conflict is profoundly confusing & Distressing.

Conflict often challenges important and meaningful relationships in ways that make us feel deeply vulnerable, exposed, threatened and afraid. These feelings can trigger powerful fight and flight responses or lead quickly to overwhelm and shut down. Either way, connection is lost and we can feel isolated and alone.

Conflict coaching is a way of working with individuals stuck in conflict without the ability to see their way forward to resolution and reconnection. Mediation brings two or more people together that are trapped in conflict in order to support the necessary but dreaded conversation.

Based on the Transformative Approach to Conflict articulated by Bush & Folger and drawing on models of conflict management, mediation, and resolution from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Compassionate Listening, NonViolent Communication, and Anatomy of Peace, I support individuals, dyads and larger groups to find their way through conflict back to each other.
